US Military Struck a 'Large Plant' in the Venezuelan nation, President Trump Stated Lacking Providing Details.

Ex-President Trump has stated that American military assets hit a "significant installation" in Venezuela last week. But, the ex-leader offered no details on the exact nature or location of the strike, and officials have issued no further clarification from his camp.

Vague Comments Offered During a Radio Show

"US forces just eliminated – I'm not sure if you saw – they have a major complex, where the vessels originate. Two nights ago, we knocked that out. So we hit them decisively," Trump allegedly told GOP supporter and businessman John Catsimatidis in a recent interview.

Possible Significance of a Verified Attack

If a US military action is confirmed, it would mark the initial land strike since the Pentagon began a buildup of US strike forces in the Caribbean region to halt narco-trafficking operations that the Trump administration claims operate under the direction of Venezuelan leader Nicolás Maduro.

The original mission of the force deployment has since morphed into a blockade aimed at stopping the country's oil exports.

Social Media Footage and Official Claims

Trump has for weeks warned that American military units are poised to escalate the operations by hitting objectives within Venezuela, a move that would in theory require legislative approval.

Online video posted online on 24 December appeared to show an detonation reportedly from an industrial zone in Zulia state. However, the video or the site in question has not been independently verified.

An official from Trump's team reportedly informed a news network that the president was referring to a drug facility in his remarks.

Reaction and Current Strategic Posture

The Venezuelan government has not commented on the event the former president described. Additionally, there have been no corroborating news from within the country about it.

The presence of US military in the area – a posture certain officials have called a maritime "quarantine" – marks the broadest maritime enforcement action of his time in office.

Officials have refrained from labeling the operation as a full blockade, but have stated that about 15,000 troops are positioned across the Caribbean Sea and the Gulf, including a aircraft carrier group, advanced fighter jets, and Coast Guard cutters to implement existing sanctions.
