I'll stamp all over 'legitimate combatant' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight-bout fight which will be shown live on Netflix.

British boxer Anthony Joshua said he will "stamp all over" Jake Paul and "defeat" the American as the combatants met personally to build hype for the upcoming bout.

Ex twice unified title holder Anthony Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, on paper, a massive disparity - at Miami venue on 19 December.

Boxer's Mindset

"I plan to injure his face and hurt his body. I'm here to prove I'm superior," the British boxer, 35 years old, declared.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's how fighters think.

"I'm going to seriously aim to hurt him. That's my intention."

Respectful Interaction

In spite of these statements, a composed Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - typically known for his showmanship - shared friendly words and maintained decorum with each other.

Paul rather criticized former Joshua's rival Francis Ngannou and called him "not serious" after the Cameroonian declined a fight offer.

Taking Aim at Fury

Joshua, meanwhile, criticized UK rival Fury - and refused a large bet 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a Paul victory.

"[Paul] is superior to Tyson Fury - he's present here," Joshua commented.

"I respect him for that."

Serious Opponent

Despite saying he intends to hurt Jake Paul, Joshua chose not to talk badly about his rival's pugilistic talent.

"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he remarked.

Paul's Background

Jake Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has primarily fought mixed martial artists or faded names since entering professional boxing.

He lost to Briton Tommy Fury in last year.

Financial Success

Still, the inexperienced fighter remains one of boxing's greatest commercial attractions, regularly earning huge paydays.

Forecast and Belief

The 28-year-old predicted a knockout win in round four or five and claimed he would derail the much-anticipated Fury-Joshua bout, which is reportedly under discussion for two years from now.

"It's going to be me versus Tyson Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul declared.

Size Difference

As Joshua and Paul participated in the customary face-off, with their physical disparity evident, it emphasized just how surprising this entire matchup is - and how remarkable it is that the bout is actually happening.
